Lots of news to update you on. I got two jobs in the past month. One with the Cultural Arts Division of Parks and Recreation for the City of Asheville. I’m assessing the 7 kilns the city has in different facilities around town. I’m also searching for a place that I can use for a studio. It’s already been rewarding because I’ve been meeting lots of folks who I normally would never have the opportunity to meet and I get to nerd out about kilns. Lots of learning, lots of fun! The other job is teaching “art skills” to 5-15 year old girls at Hollymont summer camp. It’s held on the Asheville School campus in West Asheville, which is beautiful. That starts later on this week.

Also, Jeremy and I hosted a wedding reception party that finalizes our marriage ceremony experience back in September. Everyone started coming into town and hosting duties commenced. Studio time got put on the serious back burner. I did however, manage to do some pit firing at the actual party. Here are a few photos from the event and of the pit fired birdies. I’ll also post a link to a bunch of photos David Collins took. He’s the father of my friend and maid of honor, Ms. Julie Collins.

I have no idea how long this website of photos will be up. But here’s a link to it for those of you who want to see a few of the photos that were taken. I’ll go ahead and say there are some very flattering photos, and some pretty unflattering photos as well, but such is the nature of candid photography and life in general. We can’t be fabulous all the time. My bff Julie is wearing the blue leopard print dress. She’s amazing.
